Therapydia Rutland’s classes are an eclectic hatha experience with a focus on the fundamentals of a structurally sound yoga practice. Precise alignment in standing, seated and reclined poses are woven together by a slow flow. Each class focuses on a unique foundational movement pattern and is sequenced to steadily build those movement patterns into more challenging asana. Therapydia Rutland’s classes are open to all levels. Beginners and those with a more skilled practice will be safely challenged.
Yoga for a Healthy Spine
Thursday: 8:30-9:30am
This class is designed for students recovering from a specific injury or for those with a more chronic spine dysfunction. Through experiential anatomy and supported yoga postures, students will learn foundational movement patterns that focus on restoring the balance between stability and mobility in the spine. Students will experience improved postural awareness, core stability, and pain management.
Yin Yoga
Thursday: 5:30pm-6:45pm
Come experience the benefits of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is often called “the quiet practice” because of its receptive, meditative nature focused upon surrendering rather than striving. In this class, we will hold floor postures with relaxed muscles for several minutes to facilitate the movement of prana, increased fluidity in the body and a sense of deep calm.
Seasoned yogis of other traditions, as well as dancers and athletes, will find an excellent complement to more active forms of movement. In addition, this class will provide new sensations and challenges, as we work on creating opening and flexibility in the deep connective tissues of the body during long holds.
Beginners will find a class that offers a supportive introduction to yoga honoring all bodies.
Please wear warm comfortable clothing.
