Physical Therapy

At Active Marin, our physical therapists will work with you one-on-one to help you move painlessly and efficiently. While many of our patients come to us because of surgery or an injury, we also offer preventative care to patients, which studies have shown can decrease the probability of an injury. Our physical therapists are biometric experts who will provide you with one-on-one attention in order to meet your goals, whether it’s regaining normal mobility, pain-free movement, or training for a race. Start your path to wellness today.

What to Expect During Physical Therapy at Active Marin

Initially, we conduct an evaluation with you in order to talk about your goals and needs. Our physical therapists will then conduct a comprehensive functional assessment to collect data about your range and motion. That data provides us with information to evaluate your area of pain as well as how the surrounding area contributes to your condition. You will usually receive treatment to increase your mobility or reduce your pain. An in-depth understanding of your condition allows us to create a custom treatment plan that will help you meet your needs and goals. After the initial evaluation, you and your physical therapists will have a deeper understanding of the root cause of your condition.

Throughout your entire treatment, we will ensure that you are educated about your condition and at-home exercises. Our programs are built on patient feedback, so your treatment will evolve with you. Our therapists are trained in a variety of assessment and treatment techniques such as Active Release Technique (ART), DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization), SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment), Australian techniques such as Gary Gray, McKenzie, Graston, IPA, and movement-based techniques such as yoga and TRX.
